Suncé is a family winery and vineyard located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County. We specialize in small artisan lots of varietal wine and unique blends. “To find eternity in a grain of sand or in a drop of wine.” This third painting in the Franicevic Series honors Frane’s family heritage in the ancient fishing village of Sucuraj on the island of Hvar in the Adriatic Sea.
2004 Meritage
The Winemaker Reserve blend is comprised of approximately 48% Hedin Vineyard Merlot, 32% Hedin Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Mazzera Ranch Cabernet Franc. A low yield of two-three tons per acre produced very small berries and intense fruit. Each block contributes its unique qualities: the Cabernet Sauvignon asserts itself with ripe blackberries and cocoa bean essence, the Cabernet Franc brings in a medley of peppers, and the Merlot delivers anise and mint flavors. This Meritage was aged for twenty-three months in French Oak and can be enjoyed now or for decades to come.
