Description
Dolcetto is like a friendly neighbor, the type you want to have over. Known as the least pretentious of the three Piedmontes grapes, its more famous counterparts Nebbiolo and Barbera depend on it to be an early greeter so they can rest a while longer in oak. The color of the wine is of a light violet crayon. It has aromoas of starwberry/rhubarb jam, coffee bean, tobacco and fresh pressed pomegrantes. On the palate, the wine is dominated by red, lush fruit flavors, almost like fruit punch. The wine is supported by natural satiny tannins with a finish that morphs into a raspberry smoothie. Pair this Dolcetto with rosemary chicken or pulled pork sliders, pesto pizza and lasagna. Also GREAT with savory appetizers and soups.
