Description
Chalk Hill is a great appellation for this varietal as demonstrated with this hand-crafted wine. These beautiful bluish berries were cold soaked and macerated, while employing the saignée method of bleeding off barely pressed fruit for better extraction. This Syrah was aged in 30% new French oak for 15 months. A classic cooler climate Rhône-style Syrah, this dark pleaser exhibits black mission fig fruit characteristics and a hint of blueberry laced with pepper, finishing long with velvety tannins. Pair with lamb kebabs, rich beef stew or casserole, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and/or love.
