Description
Quietly asserting themselves along once sleepy Olivet Road in the Russian River Valley, these headpruned, old vines appear to passersby as old oak trees in miniature. Each leaning, bending or squatting in his own particular way, like old men gathering around shooting the breeze. Sipping this Zin conjures up memories of hot Sonoma summers, of pulling over to the side of the road to go blackberry picking, of stuffing gobs of them in your mouth, putting just a few in the bucket for good measure. Subtle white pepper adds to a lasting finish of vanilla and plum from its 18 months aging in oak. Firm, supple tannins add a great texture on the tongue. Have with your favorite summer barbecue or on its own as a nice sipper.
