Frane’s 2022 Reserve Meritage is boasting three Bordeaux varietals: 45% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Each vineyard block contributes its unique character: the Merlot from Foppiano’s Dry Creek Valley vineyard adds plummy plushness, the Cab Franc from Eric Moor’s Dry Creek vineyard brings good spiced fruit and minerality, while the Sonoma Valley Cab from Atwood Ranch establishes a firm, yet complex structure enlivening and extending the finish with a core of black olive, good earth and leather. This classic Meritage pairs well with rich meat dishes, like: Osso Buco, Filet Mignon, and Beef Bourguignon.
